GenCon Oz 2008
The Samurai Championship Tournament

Gencon Indy, Gencon Australia, the European Championship and the South American Championship are each host to the Samurai Championship Tournament. While each location will have special events, multiple tournaments and activities, the first rounds of the Samurai Championship Tournament will be represented in the main event at each location. 32 players will move on to the finals to be held in Southern California in November of 2008.

GenCon Oz 2008

Registrations are now open.

POLITICS

Politics Points will be awarded on Saturday at the Event

There are four methods of Political Points at the various events. The first is Best Dressed. Costumes will be judged by the T.O. event team and AEG staff. The points are awarded to the Clan of the costume represented.

1st Place – 7pts

2nd Place – 5pts

3rd Place – 3pts

4th Place – 2pts

5th Place – 1pt

Next is Best Clan Banner. Banners will be judged by the T.O. event team and AEG staff. The points are awarded to the Clan of the banner represented. If a particular banner or specific banner design has already won points at a Samurai Championships event it MAY win points again.

1st Place – 5pts

2nd Place – 4pts

3rd Place – 3pts

4th Place – 2pts

5th Place – 1pt

Last is the Largest Clan banner. Simply put the largest and most noticeable of all. It must however still be carried on poles by people. There must have been some reasonable effort in the development, not simply splashing green paint on a sheet and calling it a Mantis banner, etc. If a particular banner or specific banner design has already won points at a Samurai Championships event it MAY win points again.

1st Place – 5pt

2nd Place – 3pt

3rd Place – 1pt

Banner Dominance, the most clan banners. Simply put clan with the largest number of banners at the event. Each banner must be carried by a single person (Not specifically an event attendee) when counting happens There must have been some reasonable effort in the development, not simply splashing blue paint on a sheet and calling it a Crab banner, etc. If a particular banner or specific banner design has already won points at a Samurai Championships event it MAY win points again.

1st Place – 5pt

2nd Place – 3pt

3rd Place – 1pt

I fly out on Wednesday at 5pm, so a mad amount of packing and card sorting is going on tonight. Currently behind schedule with everything but it's looking solid.

Finished my theme/championship deck and it's rather long story. Printed off about 20 odd...

So many cards I want in my fate deck, so few slots to put them in. Where do I start and what do I drop. I think my Fate deck is currently at something in the order of 120 cards. Need to trim 80 of them, but which ones?

Am a new player yet to buy his first clan. With the rising cost of miniature gaming I have gotten out and spotted people playing this at Comic Warrior, looks really fun. With my work load increasing it doesn't leave me with the time to build, paint and play, a card game is...

Not really L5R related, but I thought I'd mention that the Immigration Museum in Melbourne is holding an exhibition of kimono until the 14th September.  See here for details if you're interested:

I know that the deck sucks, so don't bother telling me this. I am putting it here in case anyone was interested. If a mod thinks it should go elsewhere could you please move it to where you think it goes.

Decklist:

Vigilance Keep (Lion)

Dynasty (47):

Does anyone know if I was stupid enough to leave my Toturi's Army banner at AW during the Kotei? I have been looking around at home for it and cannot find it.
June 26, 2008, 09:43:48 PM
truth be told I may just keep them out so thta they are close to hand while building the nine decks  I am bringing up.
June 26, 2008, 09:29:13 PM
nono.. always keep rares out for trading - that way you don't have to go through your cards to find them.. unless you keep spreadsheets or lists etc.
June 26, 2008, 09:24:57 PM
Done... for the moment. Crap... forgot to put the rares in... back I go.
June 26, 2008, 08:54:31 PM
i think..whatever gets pulled, gets put aside, then put back in later on. As long as your box isn't too full.
